my encounter with artificial intelligence, or rather, the concept of intelligence in a broad sense, began with texas hold’em.

as a student, i loved texas hold’em and programming. once, a programming class required students to do a free programming project, and creating a texas hold’em game became my choice. after setting up the game framework, i realized that the game needed to be able to play against humans, so i tried to write a simple algorithm to guide the program on how to play cards.
problems emerged one after another. how do i play cards? how do i make choices? why do i choose this way? if i realize that my choice may be wrong, how do i correct my choice and improve my cognition? with so much information emerging in the game, how do i judge the validity and credibility of the information?
these questions could not be answered, the project did not progress. the professor understood my confusion, and he said that this was an attempt to establish an “artificial intelligence”. it is a challenging job. he provided some learning materials and readings.
in the end, the texas hold’em ai project was not completed, but the questions remained, and i eventually left the field of computer science and began to study philosophy. although these questions have not been thoroughly resolved, i have begun to establish a related cognitive system that affects my whole life.
